Alright, this article might not be just for your trip to a lake resort this summer - we know not everyone who reads our blog will make it to Otter Tail
Country this year (but we hope you'll make it here sometime!).
We found this post to have some great tips for planning any vacation, although some of them lean more towards international travel (and hey - Otter Tail Country loves international visitors!).
Tip 1: Do not over plan!
The article doesn't suggest "not plan", but over planning can lead to more stress than it saves. Have a loose itinerary so you don't forget any of your major travel goals, but remember to have fun and be spontaneous.
Tip 3: Do not blow your travel money at home
Nobody likes huge bags when they're traveling. There are also plenty of places to shop for certain things (a locally made bathing suit for the beach, jewelry made with materials native to the area you're traveling, a hat from your resort's gift store) that you *could* shop for at home, but really don't need to. It's also nice to help out the economy of the locale you're visiting.
Tip 10: Relax!
You'll be stressed before you leave if you don't have all the loose ends tied up at home - so be sure to take care of all the little things like who's watching the house, making sure your bills are paid, and maybe even have the house cleaned up before you go.
Please read the rest of the article, especially if you're going to be going out of the country - this article shows you some great pointers to make the most of your vacation.
